To Celebrate or Not To Celebrate – A Question Frozen In Time

In the evenings I like to peruse through the Google headlines to see what the surface level of the world looks like. There are so many discouraging stories with grouchy people to suck the life out of humankind and it repeats nightly as if on a loop. What is deemed important for today seems to be forgotten tomorrow. What about the need for things to last? Traditions set down, values carved in stone, and friendly advice to keep moral up and positivity flowing. I’m of the opinion people need to smile and laugh. So readers here’s a little smile coming your way. Today I discovered March 6th is National Frozen Food Day. Yes, really. It was declared a holiday in 1984. Now were talking hot off the press!

Frozen food. Where do I begin?

We’ve all been there. Ice cream, fish sticks, chicken nuggets, corn dogs, pizza – yikes, I’m giving away all of my secret weapons. How does one – or more importantly – should one – celebrate a holiday devoted to frozen food? Is it wise? It’s a soul searcher and a head scratcher for sure, so here are 3 guidelines to follow when deciding whether or not to engage in this holiday.

1. Are you or were you a polar bear at any time in your current or previous life?

2. Do you desperately try to move to arctic regions just so you can buy an oversized puffy parka?

3. Have you ever been known to stand in the freezer section of your local grocery store and draw hearts on the chilly fogged-over glass doors that separate you from that beef stroganoff T.V. dinner?

If you answered yes to any of the above, I wholeheartedly believe you should party it up like there is no tomorrow. Oh 1984 – you left us with so much to think about.
